How each diagram is drawn and annotated
Draws every string in the colours of the Aquila Kids educational ukulele set — green (G), red (C), yellow (E) and blue (A). On other instruments and tunings the colours follow the string positions.
7add9, 6add9 and maj7add9 always drop their 5th to fit these 4-string instruments. A 7th, 6th or add9 chord drops its 5th too when a slash bass outside the chord (like E7/A) would otherwise push it to 5 notes. When on, affected chords show a note naming the dropped tone.

Diagrams normally start at the nut. If a chord's lowest fretted note is above this fret, the diagram is cropped to a short window at the chord's position instead. Example — a chord played entirely at fret 5:

How chords sound when you hit ▶
Plays the notes of a chord one after another, like a slow fingerpicked roll, instead of a quick strum. Bass guitar chords always play arpeggiated — strummed together, notes that low blur into a rumble.

Packs tiles into columns by height instead of aligning them in even rows. This only makes a visible difference when tiles have different heights — with equal-height tiles both layouts look the same.
